Artist Tony Weare drew "Matt Marriott" for the London Evening News. He studied drawing at Bournemouth School of Art but became a trooper in a cavalry regiment where he developed a love of horses. He was voted strip cartoonist of the year in 1961. This is a stunning example, circa 1962, by this brilliant artist who was a master of the genre.
